Design for Good to lead panel at World Design Congress London 2025

London (29 July 2025) – The charity Design for Good will lead a panel at World Design Congress 2025 on how collaboration can lead to real, transformative change when designing for the world’s most pressing challenges. Taking the stage on the second day of the prestigious event, Design for Good’s Managing Director Cecilia Brenner and co-founder and Chair Ben Sheppard will be joined by three of the charity’s Alliance members, Nestlé, Nedbank and General Mills.

Recognising that no single organisation can tackle these issues alone, Design for Good has successfully mobilised over 1,600 designers across 30 countries to create lasting, measurable impact for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals on a scale only achievable through worldwide collaboration. Brenner and Sheppard will be joined by global thought and design leaders Teman Evans, Global Chief of Design at General Mills, Terry Behan, Executive Head, Design, at Nedbank, and Ximena O'Reilly, Global Head of Design at Nestlé, who will demonstrate how collaboration has led to real-world impact and started a movement for change.

“It’s incredible to see the hundreds of creatives from all over the world come together – bridging borders, cultures and industries – to join Design for Good in advancing social and environmental good,” said Cecilia Brenner, Managing Director of Design for Good. “We are helping affected communities by working together, sharing power and focusing on lasting impact. That kind of unique collaboration is not only significant, it's transformative."

Panellists will discuss the challenges of designing for people and planet health, what it’s like to work on teams with direct business competitors, and how upskilling creatives in life-centred design makes for more impactful projects, both for Design for Good and within their own organisations. In addition, panellists will share the value of participating in Design for Good and the impact of projects already making a difference around the world.

For the first time in over 50 years, the World Design Congress is coming back to London and is hosted by the Design Council. The event marks a once-in-a-generation opportunity to showcase some of the most innovative design solutions to the climate crisis to an international audience of over 1,000 designers, design advocates and policymakers.

"We are thrilled to welcome Design for Good to the World Design Congress stage this September in London,” said Minnie Moll, Chief Executive, Design Council. “Their remarkable ability to mobilise global design talent for transformative impact truly embodies the spirit of this Congress and our 'Design for Planet' mission. To build a regenerative future, we need everyone in the room, and Design for Good's panel, featuring chief design officers from Nestlé, Nedbank and General Mills, perfectly illustrates this. They are showing the world, on a global scale, how design at its best doesn't just solve problems, it transforms lives and fundamentally reshapes our approach to planetary health. This Congress is about exploring how we make 'Design for Planet' genuinely everyone's agenda, and Design for Good is leading the way."

Design for Good announced recently that it will mobilise its global alliance of hundreds of creatives to design for people and planet health between 2026-2030, two deeply connected and equally critical needs for advancing social and environmental good. By addressing United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being and Goal 13: Climate Action, the charity aims to positively improve 10 million lives as well as the health of our planet’s ecosystems by 2030.
